Organization often hold the opinion that rule-based systems are less powerful than machine learning and only form the first version before the team can move onto the cool ML stuff. I wrote a short piece explaining that while this may be true to some extent, truly powerful insights and solutions will emerge when we slice the problem statement and combine both approaches.
